FERC staff have recently released a draft Environmental Impact Statement for the existing McCloud-Pit Hydroelectric Project (P-2106-059). Currently up for relicensing, the 368 MW project is located on the McCloud and Pit Rivers in Shasta County, California. Licensee Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) proposed a number of license modifications to enhance environmental protection and recreational opportunities. Staff countered by recommending those conditions, plus additional protective measures. The deadline to comment on the draft EIS is September 28, 2010.
